In 1823, a father wrote a charming poem for his children as a Christmas gift, but little did he know that it would become a wonderful gift to the world.  This poem, A Visit From St. Nicholas, by Clement C. Moore, has become the most recognizable poem of our time.  It is with this poem we get our first visions of Santa with his eight reindeer, flying over the rooftops through the sky, inspiring artists throughout the decades in their renditions of this magical flight and site.

The Midnight Flight figurine embodies the vision and spirit of Mr. Moore's poem and is embellished with its own unique style.  Santa is a grandfatherly figure dressed in Christmas finery and sitting in a beautiful, lacquered red sleigh, which is trimmed in gold and adorned with painted holly.  Lanterns hooked onto curly wrought iron holders help light Santa's way, and and tinkling bells announce his arrival.  A fluffy quilted velvet blanket keeps all the deer warm as they tirelessly pull Santa and his sleigh over the rooftops of cities and towns everywhere, ensuring that Santa will be at every child's house to deliver the much-awaited presents.
